What do local searchers see on Google Maps and organic search when they're looking for a certain kind of business?  Our new Phone View feature helps users to see local search results as if you were on a phone, at an exact spot of your choosing.

While we have offered geo-grids for some time now, this feature goes a step further, giving full insight into all aspects of local search results.

  • Local Service Ads
  • Google Screened
  • Map Pack placement
  • People also asked
  • Organic search results

This feature can be used, for example, to determine if your city pages are ranking organically – just start Phone View in or around your target city, and scroll down to the organic results section.

You can also launch multiple Phone Views in different areas, if you want to compare and contrast the local results.

Launching a new Phone View is as simple as clicking on the map.  While viewing a geo-grid, click where you'd like to check results, and a simple pop-up will open asking whether you'd like to view Maps or Local Pack.

Clicking on another spot is all it takes to launch a second or third Phone View if you want to compare results in different locations.

Each Phone View has a two minute time limit and will shut themselves down after that time limit has expired.

This is a brand new feature, so please report any feedback or questions that you might have, and enjoy!
